Spinning

Now into feburary and the year is already flying by, before I know it I'll be July and I'll be at the start line ready to leave Lands end for the ride. After deciding that going to the gym and cycling was neither interesting or productive enough I have begun spinning classes at work during my lunch hour.

The first time I went was simply the toughest half hour of sitting in one place that I've ever managed. I've been a few times now and actually beginning to enjoy it and feeling the difference already. Another huge plus is that it's getting lighter and lighter every morning and evening so I'm hopefully not too far away from being able to commute and train all in one go.

On another note have also started going to Jive classes with my girlfriend that aswell as being enjoyable I am hoping will also be another fun way of increasing my fitness levels. A weekend of planning awaits me as I plan to get down some more solid routes and have a rough idea of the route we will take and length of time it will take us...

Good luck with your challenge, I cycled LEJOG last summer, also to raise funds for MNDA.

From what I have read of your LEJOG Blog, (early days), it rang true with a few events from my own trip and prep.

During my prep, I read loads of blogs, and thought you might like to read mine, (if you haven't already). You can find it on :-

You'll have to scroll down to the bottom of the second page, to read from the beginning. It's quite a lengthy one, but according to some of my mates, made an "entertaining read".

Once again, good luck with the ride, I will look in on your blog from time to time to see how you're getting on. I'd be happy to offer any assistance I could in terms of advice and tips etc.

    All the best.
