train

Ok, so here goes... Traveling down to my girlfriends for the weekend so while on the train thought I'd give blogging on my phone a go. Realistically on the cycle ride I'll most likely have to blog like this anyway so really just seeing if its possible.

Gymming has officially stopped for the year with plans to create a program over the Xmas break for in the new year. Fund raising is going really well, had the first donation on my justgiving page and another three people signed up to the lotto. Also got a lot or ideas for further fundraising in the new year...

Fund raising gives you such a great buzz, both helping others and a real sense of achievement. Looking forward to 2011 with a lot or high hopes and if its half as good as 2010 I'll be a very happy man.

All for now, and must report whilst slow blogging on a phone is a real possibility for the trip

Land's End

One of the many things that I plan to discuss along the way in this blog is all the places that I will visit along my way so why not start at the start with Lands End. Geographically it is situated as the most south western point in Britain and the most westerly point in England. It is in the county of Cornwall where my journey will begin in the summer of next year with I'm sure much nerves and excitement.

The name itself has struck at people's imagination for thousands of years, with the Romans referring to it as 'Bolerium', the seat of storms, and the old Cornish name 'Penn-an-Wlas', end of the land. It has for many years been a famous tourist destination, as early as the 19th century people would make the journey between here and John O'Groats as it became acknowledged as the longest point to point crossing in Britain.

I will be continuing along this theme in future blog's and discussing in more depth Land's End as well as other places I plan to visit along my way...

Dream becoming reality

Ok, so now this is all becoming a bit of a reality and I've been planning a lot this week to get my fund raising up and running. The justgiving page is up and running and I'll work on the page blog and all in the coming few days http://www.justgiving.com/lufbraboyscyclebritain.

Have had ideas going through me head like crazy the last few days and since I last blogged on here have bought my bike and very basic training has begun to be continued properly in the New Year. Also beginning to have more ideas how to use this blog, keeping track of training places I plan to visit and a guide on planning this event.

I know over the coming Months up to and including the event there will be hard days fitting training around my life and difficulties organising the event however raising for such an amazing cause it will surely be worth it.

Anyway just a quick update for now and I'll update more regualry now as planning begins to get under way for real...
